buying advice 2004 slnewbie

I have not had good luck with dealers and why, if possible, I do most work myself. I don't like to get hosed. there are some good and fair independents, they are hard to find too. It seems that most dealers price the same, sky-high and while they are working on it they find about 3 grand worth of other bogus stuff that needs to be fixed. I have three dealers in Oregon that I've used, all are the same.

I did another abc fluid change after 15k and it was pretty dark. I guess I have to re-assess the service frequency of the abc fluid.
