I plan to replace the battery of the SL500. Is this a straightforward procedure of removing and installing? Or is there something that needs to be reset afterwards? I noticed that some battery repair shops feed power via the cigarette lighter adapter (CLA) presumably to prevent erasure of radio presets but the SL's CLA is inactive when the key is off. Surely, one wouldn't attempt to replace a battery with the iginition on for fear of frying some electronics? Thanks for your advice.

 

I need the radio security code whenever I reconnect my battery... if I want to ever use the radio again. Other than that, nothing unusual.
