ABC Warning Light after Brake Job
I recently got all my brakes replaced by a non-authorized dealer mechanic and a few days later my ABC system light started coming on. I guess this could be a coincidence. I do remember the car looking a little low on the drivers side.
I took it to a dealer here in Louisville and they are telling me that they have to flush the fluid and perform a Rodeo test for 1300 dollars and that still might not fix the problem.
Am I getting taken for a ride or would this be the same process at a non-MB place - and would you trust a non-MB place to handle ABC problems.
Thanks

i would not take it to a non benz mechanic. i dont think they have the equipment to properly drain and refill and bleed the system as required by Benz. usually the first thing to do is flush the fluid and replace the fluid filter then perform RODEO. if the problem still persists then usually youll need a valve block for the front axle or the rear axle. there are also recalls for ABC hoses that leak and can get replaced.. make sure youve got all the recalls done for the ABC suspension first before spending money. 1300 sound a bit high for a flush and filter and rodeo. usually a flush calls for about 10 quarts of ABC fluid and the fluid is $$ im guesssing about 2 or 3 hours for the labor. but 1300 sounds seriously high.
