98 sl 500 rim and tire recommendation

Ahoy, Lucky,
I installed these:
AMG Wheels
8 1/2 J x 18" EH2 ET30 A230 401 2002 -w- Pirelli 255/40 ZR18
9 1/2 J x 18" EH2 ET33 A230 401 2102 -w- Pirelli 285/35ZR18
On my '98 SL500, and I'm very pleased with them. No scraping of the tires on the body. I considered some 19", but I like the looks of these better. Pay attention to the lug bolts. original items are too long, and will destroy your rear brakes. I don't recall the length of the proper ones -- I got them on ebay for little $$$
