hi all i have this problem where when i start the car the rev counter goes upto 2000rpm and stays there, it only moves ,which is down when i go faster as say from 80mph and as i go faster it goes down to zero, and as soon as i slow it goes back up to 2000rpm any ideas,,,,,,,,,

It's either the instrument cluster or the ESCM module that sends the tach signal to the cluster. You can check that signal by measuring it's frequency at different engine speeds and comparing to reference values. If you are able to do that and want help, post back.

ok Where is this located, and i have a multi meter, i undestand what needs to be done, just not how to do it , any illustrations etc would be very helpfull, thankyou for your reply,

If you remove the cluster you'll find 2 round connectors and 2 others. The tach signal is on socket #13 of the round connector that looks like the picture. At an engine speed of 1000 RPM you should measure roughly 50 HZ, and at a speed of 4000 RPM 194 HZ.
