Default 81-380SL Seat Adjmt.

I have a 1981 380SL and am short. The drivers side seat has a adjustment **** at the rear of the seat rails. They appear to raise the seat but will not move. they have a large screw head at the rear of the unit but it is extremely tight and dont want to force it for fear something will break. Need advice. ! tnx in advance. Don

the handwheel is stuck?

or maybe some mechanism also.

anyway, the seat is only mounted by 4 bolts to the floor. i think it's worth the time removing it and have a visual check.

Maybe by now you've figured it out, but if not, you need to pull those (spring loaded) rear rail seat adjust ***** out, then turn.

Hello, Tnx for the info on the seat adjustment. Car is 24 years old and looks like that had never been moved. It was very stiff to get it started but now works just fine. Now I can see over the steering wheel. tnx again Don

Default SL Seat Adjmt.

Does anyone know what year these seat rail adjustments came on the car? I have a 1988 car, and I cannot find them on the seat rails--maybe they changed by then.
