all fasteners are loose except the one behind the driver and it comes up about 1/4 in. but doesnt release. any ideas?? New purchase and completely unfamiliar with the car. tnx Don

 

It's somewhat like a D'Zeus fitting and the piece you put the handle into is removable, it may be a few degrees off from letting you rotate it far enough to release the pins. Once unlocked from fully tight position, it should rotate on it's own as you pull the top up. good luck

 

I found the problem... I had been trying to loosen the top by myself and lifting one side and then the other. I found by getting help and lifting both sides evenly it came loose. Evidently the one side was cocked and jamming the fastener. Thank you very much for the info. Don

 

Yes, and you will find the same situation when putting it back on too! These hard tops are finiki and you may have to play with it a bit jogging it to get all four to seat just right before you can dog them all down.

 

Hi I found out that what you say is right. It really pays to have 2 people removing and replacing the hard top. They do need to be jostled a bit to come off and reseat. Now all I have to do is find a reasonable holder for the hard top. They can be a bit costly. Tnx for the input Don
