2003 SL500 Park Lever Replacement
 

Hi everyone, new member here so obviously first post. I am experiencing the infamous broken plastic park lever in the shifter. I have researched the internet and youtube and have a fairly good idea of what is involved in replacing. It looks like to me the most difficult part of the process is getting the shift linkage off either the shifter or transmission. I have a lift so I can get under the car but it looks like a lot has to be removed including the exhaust to get to the shift linkage on the transmission. Any advice on the entire replacement process and in particular the shift linkage clip removal would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
