You can repair the screen. If the hole/tear is small, use nylon or polyester thread and 'sew' it back together. If tear is large and you have to re-screen, it's accomplished much the same way house window screen is done. You'll need mesh material from Lowe's/Home Depot, spline material, spline tool, and patience.
