Default 2000 SL500 Bluetooth

Has anyone out there tried the Agros AIK bluetooth from eurocarphone in a 2000 SL500. I would like to know how it performs, sound quality, voice control, ease of installation and operation? I'm considering purchase and at$850 I would like some experienced feedback before making the investment.

Iinstalled the bluetooth "Agros" and also incorprated the OE voice recognition module for total hands free operation. What a great addition to my SL! And I get to use my razor phone and current service provider! No additional phone and cradle to take up residence in my center consel. I get in the car and it autoconnects with a turn of the key and works through radio head and isfully functional. Well worth the $ and easy to install. However I checked with MBUSA and no tele-aid digital upgrade isavailable for 2000 SL500, not that I would subscribe but to have all options functional seems reasonable for resale value.

Where did you get the Agros from? What did it cost?

Is it a "puck" that fits with the current system, or would I have to modify the wiring?

Also, as to the tele-aid, they lied to you. The 2000 SL600 uses the same teleaid module as every other model between 2000-2004, and there is definitely an upgrade available as they tried to sell it to me for $600+ on my 2001 SL600. I am mulling it over, but not sure it's worth it...I have never had to use the teleaid once. Also, if something ever were to happen, you can just call MBUSA roadside assistance, which you get for free for life when you buy a Mercedes, from your cell phone. All tele-aid does, unless you buy the concierge package for almost $500/yr, is to call roadside assistance for you. Seems like $240/yr for basic tele-aid is pretty expensive for a call I can make myself for free.

It is not the "puck" This allows you to use your own phone or cell device and syncs with full integration with your cars current system. Kieth Valintine out of California andis an outsource installer for MB dealers on the westcoast. His Email address is cellguy@live.com and he is very knowledgable and will explain all your options. Excellent support from him! You can call him at 714-746-5930 Let him know David out of NY sent you. He posts his equipment on ebay also and that is where I purchased from him. My 2000 SL 500 never had phone option installed and he got me what I was looking for at 1/2 of whatmy Indy guy quoted me. I never even checked with dealer as I knew they were higher. Total cost was $860. As for the Tele-Aid your 2001 has different set up than my 2000. Actually 2001was the upgrade year and is the cut-off for digital upgrade. I've done extensive reasearch on this. Also I'm lead to understandthe "locater" in event of car theft, and the Air bag deploymentdetection feature are standard with tele-aid.

Hmm...I didn't know about the theft-prevention thing. That is good to have, for peace-of-mind, not to mention a nice break on insurance rates. Might have to rethink the whole teleaid thing.

Also, as to the Argos, what is the installation procedure?

Did you install this? Where does it go, and what wiring is necessary?

Thanks!

I did install it myself, everything you need comes with it. It attaches to the CD changer mounting bracket andis very easy to do.
