I have a 98 500 sl and it does not have a ch changer in the trunk.
My question is someone told me this year is pre wired to add a cd changer,where would the wire be and can I buy one off of eBay and just plug it in or do I have to do some special wiring
Also where do yo install the cd changer.thanks jimbo

 

my wires come into trunk on the drivers side behind the wheel well. generally where your tools and first aid kit is located toward the front lower corner of compartment. may need to look behind the panel, a few clips hold the panel on. remove just enough to look behind. ebay is a good place to start looking. most r129 wiring for the cd should be the same. good luck trying to find a good changer. a shame, the cd has gone the way of the eight track and cassett.
