Default 1985 380sl Restoration

Im going to rebuild the fuel system, syspension, brakes, etc. but the cars been sitting out for about 10 years and it runs like a slug. i replaced the warm up pressuure regulator and cold start valve and fuel filter.
my problem is that on a cold start the car starts fine takes a little while to crank but wen it fires up and i put my foot on the gas to go the car dies off once i take my foot off.

Hi,
That can be several reason... First I would replace all sparkplugs and wire, When it runs, does it sound like all sylinders fireing? Also check/replace the fuelfilter. The fuelpump should be able to deliver 1liter(1/4gallon) gasoline in 30 seconds if the hose are disconnected. (Its specified for mine 450SL '71, but I guess its the same for your car). Next, check the ignition timing if it can be adjusted.
