Thinking of buying a 1970 280 SL. Floor is very rusty, is this a major problem?. Does anyone know of any other problematic places that should be looked at closely before purchase. Thanks for any input.

If the floor is the only part that is very rusty, I would not consider it a problem. I think probably many or even most of these cars have some degree of rust -- but they were a very solidly engineered chassis, and if the car is kept from bad weather it isn't a concern.
