Default "New" SL Wheels on a 1997 129 body?

I bought a beautiful 1997 SL500 that I just love.
As a newbie, I also unwittingly bought the "wrong" AMG wheels (they are the ones I want!) that fit a new body style SL. Seems the lugs are shorter.
IS there a different lug bolt I can use to use these wheels?

Yes you need the longer lugs. I have a set of mb lugs for just this reason. let me know if you need them.

Longer or shorter lugs to fit the new SL wheels on the old bodystyle?

You have a set you want to sell or know the MB P/N?

the tires will rub on the fender. u should use 245's in the front instead of the stock 255's.

I nearly made the same mistake but was able to try before I buy as the wheels were used ones with tyres fitted. The rear wheels are a very close fit but I found the front wheels rubbed the wings both on partial lock and on bumpy roads. The offsets are wrong as well.
In the end I fitted some really nice E class 17 inch wheels using a German sourced set of wheel spacers that have the wheel centering machined into them

Are these the amg wheels you are talking about? I have the 245's onthe front and they still rub like you were saying. It's only when the going gets bumpy and only once in a while. I love the look so much that it's worth it to me to let it rub once in a while.

283BENZ you have very beautiful AMG wheels, I love this kind of wheels.
My prefer ones are not AMG but.....see the image if I arrive to post it, so the model wich was on the Silver Arrow in USA or on th "SL Edition" in Europa.

Or this one: AMG on the "Final Edition"
