Default Trunk access help

I have an 2000 S500
My battery has died due the cold weather. All the electrics are down.
I cannot open the trunk to access it.
I can open the hood.
Is there some where to apply electrical power to operate the trunk latch so that I can gain access to the battery??

Thanks

Marty

In simple terms you have to apply power to somewhere along the main power busbar / wire (RED) which runs from rear to front of the car. (w220?)
I believe you can gain acess to such a terminal in the passenger footwell under the toeboard carpet
after entering the car using the mechanical key.
I guess you could also use the terminal on the starter motor but this will be difficult to access.
If it is a w140 I'm sure it will be the same but am not familiar where the battery is. i.e. Engine bay or boot.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Stuart.

Yep - same thing happened to me this week.

Just stick the mechanical key in the trunk lock; turn key 90 degrees and push on the key. It should pop right open.

The mechanical key is in Vegas
But... I attached a small charger to hot lead of the starter and after 20 minutes I had the battery up enough to get the trunk open.
Anyway she is charged and working fine.

Thanks for the help gentlemen
