Thud sound in right rear
I own a S500 - '97. It runs great but when going over the slightest bump there is a loud thud sound in the right rear. I pulled the shock down and noticed the lower bushing is toast. Is there a way to replace the bushing...the self leveling shock is $900. I am also replacing a plastic arm that looks like it is some-what worn.
Do you think the bushing is the problem?
Thanks,

Hi Sterling join the thump club. My 92 S does the same and shock in same state as yours. Looking at getting bottom end rebushed. If you find somewhere before me can you let me know . By the way they cost £500 and Merc in UK say they will only supply as a matched pair OUCH!
I am having a mechanic (again) look at it tomorrow. He thinks he will find the problem. He seems to think it is the upper bushing not the lower. We will see. Thanks for the input...let me know what you find.
