my 2004 S430 4 matic(91,000 miles) was stuck in park I called roadside assistance the rep told me to firmly push the shifter up very hard because sometimes the sensor gets confused and thinks the car is parked. It worked after a couple of firm pushes I have a feeling that this problem isnt going away until the unit is replaced. Any advice really thinking about trading up but I dont need more problems with another tempermental mercedes benz

 

Just replaced floor shifter assembly and programed data on line total damage was $952 wow.
