Is there a trick to replacing the battery in a 2005 S500?

1. disconnect ground
2. disconntect positive
3. remove any mounting brackets and overflow tube
4. reverse operation with new battery that has been charged
5. reset everything that was lost in command center

Is there anything else I should know about?

you have to reprogram the sunroof and windows, other then that you are right on.

 

you also need to sync the ESP if the 05 is the same like mine (04 s 500 4 matic) just turn the steering wheel to left until stops and than to right all the way. This sync should be the firs step after you replace / disconect the batery and then windowos and sunroof sync. all this info is available on the owner manual troubleshooting section
