Default Newbie Warranty ??

I'm new to the forum. About to trade my 97 BMW 740iL in on a 2005 S430. It's a CPO car. Should I opt for the extended warranty ($2400/yr & $3900 2yrs). Or should I just put the money away for emergencies. Thanks

How much is covered by the warranty, is it all parts and all work needing doing in the next two years, or not? $3,900 is about £2,600GBP, which I would be willing to pay if the car had say 50-80k miles on it and is coming to the stage where some work may need doing on it, for two years warranty given one service with only a bit of work done could cost you that much alone at a main dealer!

There was one person on here who had a CL (forget what year but was same model as yours and he said he got the warranty and was glad as in the first 2 years he had more than $7,000 USD worth of work done at the dealer on it!

Do you know any more about the car, how many previous owners, number of miles, service history, has it had a new command system fitted etc?

In the current economic climate, you may be able to knock down the $3900 a bit....worth a try!

Thanks. I'm going to try to get them to drop the price.
