my 95 s320's tranny is totally gone.... it does not do anything.... can anyone give me an idea on where i can find a good replacement.... thanx.

 

was it in an accident? is the tranny physically damaged? other wise you can rebuild it why get a new transmission? i can sense you are not a handyman so you might as well send it to a service shop choose a dependable one, someone that will not cheat you on cost and parts as well as procedures.

 

nah it wasnt in an accident. but i didnt get a chance to look under or at the tranny. it just doesnt do anything. but ima try to either get it rebuilt or trade in the whole tranny for one in better shape.

 

if indeed you ahve already check the outer parts of the transmission (modulator, shifting cable, vacuum pressure, solenoid, fluid level etc) then i suggest you take down first the valve body and free up the component within that area, clean and push for function test, if it still does not work then its time to take down the transmission. always start with the logical procedures and steps that will not cost you unnecessarily.
