Help/my 2001 s500 hard key will not open the driver side door/the dealer has no anser/help guys/the key will open the trunk and glove box

 

probably need a new tumbler..maybe was replaced before with a used one maybe? or its just a bad tumbler. or the mechanism inside is broken.

 

Can i order a tumbler from mercedes/i ckhecked with a few locksmiths ,the offered no resolution

 

before ordering the tumbler i would somehow make sure the mechanics of the lock inside is ok. or linkage maybe off. but yes the dealer can do that for you.

 

are you the first owner? if not ask the previous owner if you can if the tumbler was ever changed, if it is still the original key tumbler is it turning when you insert the key? if yes then the inside rod mechanism may be loose or disabled. In that case you need to open the sidings from the inside and visually view for reassembling the rod located on the left top portion when viewed from the inside of the door. If the tumbler have been changed then there should be another set of keys, just wondering was it working before? if not then the above step might be the most prudent way to go. avoid spending before you find out what is really wrong.
