Default mb s430 problems

hey guys, so just a few questions

i recently purchased a 04/99 mb s430, now there are a few problems and i was wondering if you could help me. i have been reading and i think they all may be cause from the pump that is under the right rear seat.

1. key fob does not unlock/lock doors or open/close windows or release trunk. the lights flash on the car but nothing happens
2. central locking inside car does not work, neither does trunk release
3. the assist with the closing of the door does not work
4. the button to put down the rear headrests do not work

and also on the stereo when it is in radio mode does not pick up any signal form radio waves and will stay at 0.00 FM

hi natty54 ,

sounds like ure having quite a lot of electrical problems, have a visit to mb garage / workshop to diagnostic on the electrical problems before replacing them. it saves time & money on replacing using the guessing game.

To mb2001,

looks like ure cd player unit is faulty

share the info on your repairs with us when its done

20 amp fuse under the back bench seat. accessable by poping out the light under the seat at the floor, not just the light, but pop off the whole plastic cover. youll see relays and fuses. there will be a 20 amp fuse blown replace it and all your locking and door and trunk problems will be fixed..temporarily. right rear passenger seat side.

depending on the sound. if its a pretty loud screeching, creaking/metal to metal sound..probably the lower ball joints.....if its a quieter creaking sound it could be sway bar bushings. those are both very common noisy parts.
but could also be something else.

Default s430 airmatic failure and solution

I was driving to Phoenix from Lake Havasu, on business, and my airmatic system stopped working.
I checked it out later when I returned home and discovered that when I used a voltage inverter to operate a laptop for my partner as we were driving it stopped working. Unknowningly, we had blown a 40 amp fuse that was also connected to the cigarette lighter. New fuse, and the airmatic system was back up and running.

Default s 430 ignition lockup

My key will not turn in the ignition. I live in the desert, and it happened once before after it rained, as it did again today, but this time it clicked as it tried to start, so with a 2003 original battery, it tested a little weak, so I replace it. Now I get no key turning at all with either of two keys to the car. I guess I will start testing fuses.

I would say differently. . . I would say it's your control arm bushings

ir sounds like your having a few different problems. for startes there a two different pumps that control these systems ( central locking pump and clossing assist pump) sounds like both are out. there are several reasons why these pump stop working 1 they since a leak in the system and they shut down to protect themselves. 2 they just stop working. is what you need to do is rest the central locking pump( by disconnecting it and reconnecting) and have somebody properly diagnosis it. more time that not there is a leak in the system. i ahve also seen the hose inside the pump pop off this is really easy to diagnosis if you hear a major leak inside the pump the vacuum hose has poped off. all you do is seprate the pump and reattach with a zip tie holding it in place.

the closing assist is a whole nother problem i could sit here and try to explain how to diagnosis it but with out the propper tools it would be really hard. take it to somebody who is trained on these cars
