The wipers on my 95 S500 work sometimes, then will not. They have stopped during the middle of stroke, will go back to resting position when I turn off the ignition and restart the car, but will not come back on. Will come on sometimes after the car sits for a while, thought this might be a heat problem, but will not sometimes after sitting over night. Have this problem whether it is raining or not. Would appreciate some help since the wiper relay and the combination relay are costly. I haven't had any problems with other functions through the combination relay. Also have question about the instrument cluster. The cluster will light up when barkes are applied when the lights are not on, do not think this is normal, but not sure. Thanks for any input on these matters.

The combo relay really is not very expensive, I know. I has same problem once, did the relay replace, but did not fix the problem. I found Ihad a Fed Gov parking sticker blocking the rain sensor just behind the rear view mirror. Moved that, cleaned the windshield inside and out, rechecked all the wiring connections at the rain sensor and combo relay. Disconnected battery to see if any memory needed erased, was not needed though.
All then was ok with the wipers, auto rain adjust and intermittent operation.

Worked for me.
