hydrau lic pump 560SEC
looks like i screwed up bigtime!!!!
now if i can get this right?????????
the hydraulic (suspension) pump on my 560 SEC has sprung a leak and is dumping hydraulic suspension fluid into the engine sump. which is not a good look cos the cast iron rings run directly on the aluminium bores and "all oils aint oils "as the comercial goes
it had new twin lipped seal about 3 months ago.
the shaft has grooves mebbe .5 thou on a bad day where the seal runs.
i would have thought this wear insuficient to be a problem as the seal is on the suction side of the pump.
i have acquire a used pump and will have the shaft restored to standard dimension (tungsten metal spray and ground to size)
a new pump is approx $1200 here, so it can stand some work in lieu!!
DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE OF REBUILDING THESE PUMPS??????????
all help , suggestions , and words of wisdom will be gratefully received.
my abject apologies for the earlier stuffed up posting!!!

if you are planning to drive the car for longer time...just change it!
not unless you appreciate the low ride where you can hardly steer the wheel when this pump gets faulty again.
