How to replace door handle LED 2005 S500
remove the door panel. then you can access the led in the handle. its a small fiber optic wire harness that comes as one. easy to replace once you get the panel off. the harness might be held in by a small amount of hot glue.
Thanks for the quick reply. Can you give me some advice on how to remove the wood without damaging it? I tried peeling it away by hand but lost my nerve. I know wood is expensive to replace.
PS: I'm from the Philly area too. Bought my car at MB of FW.

yes i remember you we spoke before about your tire issues. the wood comes off from the front of the door first, just pry up then just pry your way down the wood. screw under the door grab handle and one under the SRS badge and then the piece around the door striker and then also one under the seat switches when you pull that out. i believe thats it. then pry out at the bottom of the panel and then lift the door panel up.
Thank you for the response. Do I pry the wood off with my fingers or should I use some kind of tool?
Regarding the tires, thought you would like to know what happened. The car was pulling due to poor tire wear, nothing else. One of the front tires had more tread on the left than the right and the othere tirebarely passed CPO standards, hence the car pulled to the right. New front tires solved the problem. Dealer paid for one tire (it was like pulling teeth) and I paid for the other one. Dealer should have paid for both, but that's water over the dam at this point.
I am impressed with the service dept. at MBFW, but felt sales should have stepped up to the plate better.

pry off with pocket screwdriver.. we use a plastic wedge to do it. its just held in with screw type of threads that secure into plastic pieces. just pry at the front and up then work your way back. it comes off without much force.
