How do I get to the air filter on a 2003 S500
 

How do I remove the plastic cover on the engine so I can get at the air filters. I am afraid to pull up the plastic, and run the risk of the plastic breaking.
Is the oil filter in the front of the engine, toward the left side , as viewed from the drivers seat?
And I thought BMW's were tricky!

you can carefully pull up on the cover in the front, there are 2 air filters on each side. the oil filter is on the front of engine on the right. when viewed from front of car. some people use special tool to remove filter, i use a pair of large pliers and a rag not to scratch the casing.
