Help on replacing spark plugs
Hi,
Not really sure what the change point is since it seems to change dependent upon territory (maybe due to gas quality).
Euro fuel is of higher octane than in USA.
My experience is on V6 M112 engine which appears to be recommended at 70k miles in Euro service recommendations.
However, in one of my cars they are running fine with little wear at 100k miles and no problems what so ever.
On the M112 V6 there are two plugs per cylinder. Not sure if this is also true on V8.
The Platinum OE replacement plugs (Beru) are expensive.
My personal preference is to use OE parts (even if not MB branded) since these have been extensively tested by MB.
Don't believe all the hype you read about this make or that giving you better gas mileage etc. and be wary of three electrode tips etc etc.
Stuart.
