electrical drain
 
I have a 93 300se it is drawing 5 amps at rest with the battery disconnected. needless to say draining the battery in no time. anybody know what the hot wired items are?

only you can find out what it may be.

you may start by connecting an ampere gauge in parallel to the battery and set it to 10.00 amperes. normal drain is 0.05 for the clock, radio memory, and anti theft alarm.

then you can start removing the suspected components or pull out the respective fuses first.
if it doesn't go down by removing the fuse, pull out the connector from the components one by one till you find the consumer. (if the current suddenly drops down, you know what it is).

:eek:just remember when you test the battery drain you have to test it with your negetive terminal recontact the battery again .that will shut down the light timer .so you will have less current go throw the system .it is the final reading of your true amp drain.......
try to check for the trunk light wire ,it always broke at the hinge.....
