eha questions
well, after reading a whole long thread and lots of analyzation, im fairly certain my problem lies in the eha.
is there any way to test this and make absolutely sure? i think at 170k its about time to replace it anyhow, but theyre hard to find and none too cheap, so i dont want to do it for no reason.
also, i found a couple on ebay, but they came off of 113 and 124 chassis cars, not 126. from what ive read about replacement ones, this shouldnt matter, an eha is an eha is an eha, as long as it is from a bosch cis or ke system. can anyone confirm this? hate to buy parts that wont fit.
oh yeah, its an 84 w126 500sel european market with bosch cis. i can get the vin, but im not currently looking at the car, so ask me if you need it.

as far as i see them, they look very much the same, but the calibration is different because of the upper and lower chamber pressure.
remember that it is directly affected by sensor plate.
getting a new one is useless unless you got the right voltage signal.

so waht should the voltage signal be, an do itest this at the eha, or at the sensor plate? also, can i recalibrate one from a four or a six cylindr to work? i can get my hands on the dealership electronics if i need to.
vin is WDB 126037 1A 031914 if this helps.

still a little confused on all this. i got my hand on the eha from a 1988 300e 2.6, and i have a seal kit on the way too. im going to try using this one next week, and if it doesnt help at all, i will just put the old one back on.
also wondering if a problem like this (feels like its missing and wont idle at all below 1200rpm) could be related to the coil. the previous owner said hed had the coil replaced shortly before i bought it, and also the distributor cap and rotor, but when i inspected the cap and rotor they looked pretty burnt out. i replaced them, but it still acts the same way.
the car is euro spec. and im wondering if perhaps the coils are different than the american spec. cars, and maybe i have the wrong one and it is sparking way too hot or something of that sort.
