I just bought my 2001 s500 and have a few questions regarding command.

1.) There are two tiny lights (I think) directly above the NAV select button obove the keypad. What are those for. they have never come on.
2.) Can I play an audio CD in the Command system?
3.) Are there any voice commands for Command?
4.) does anyone know if the soon to come udated Nav CD's have Starbucks on them under gastronomy? Do they do tons of updates or is it basically the same?

5.) mirrors: on a 2001 can they be programmed to retact in automatically when the car is shut off?

1 dont know with out seeing them.

2 yes it should play cds

3 i cant remember for sure if there are voice commands i dont think there are

4 i just saw the updated cds for the navi on ebay they were selling them by the single cd check e bay

5bring your car to the dealer and have then check the version coding of the instrument i dont think that they can on a 2001 only as of m.y. 2003

 

1. post a pic of the lights. I'm not sure what you are referring to

2. the command system in my 2001 S500 only has the sat nav cd in it. it doesn't play cd's. the cd stacker is in the trunk.

3. if you have lingtronic, there are lots of voice commands for the command system. read the manual

4. i only have the original sat nav CDs. the 2003 models went to DVD. I'm not sure if they are updating the CD's. (not here in the UK anyway).

Thanks for the information. I do have voice command in the car, but not sure it it opperates the navigation. That is a cool feature. I just haven't learned the commands for nav yet. I tried and your right. no music CD in the nav slot. that is a shame. I spoke with the dealer here and apperently there is an updated CD set coming out in the end of Julya nd will be all 11 cds for $275.00. That is cheaper than one at a time. This is for all US, and most of Canada. I can't answe to the UK, of course. I was planning a drive to California before July so I may to to eBay for the CA and Nevada CD. If the dealer can't answer my indicator lamp question, i'll post here. Thanks do much for your response.
