Blower dead but Display is working???
 

Hi all,

My 1999 S Class has just had a new front air shock absorber fitted but has now been returned to me and the blower doesn't work. The Display on the internal console appears to be correct in that you can set it to 'auto' or manaully set it and adjust the temperature by incrementqal digits but nothing happens..

Can anyone please advise what it can be - a fuse or what?

Check fuses then blower motor and regulator
 

I had the same problem but on a 95 S280. Check your fuses first. Not sure where they are in your car but my master fuse box was in the front (included fuse info sheet) and there was another fuse box in the bot (trunk). If the fuse(s) are OK then you will need to uncover the blower motor. There is a thread somewhere that shows you how (lots of screws then remove thecover and filter cover to expose the blower abd regukator).

That thread also shows you how to pull the blower motor and regulator and check them out.

In my case, while its cheaper to buy new replacement blower motor, I puled the brushes, oiled everything that moves, srayed contact cleaner between the brushes and the inside of the motor, and then put it back together again). The blower motor now moves but very slowly. So I need a new motor and had lots of fun).
