Default 94 S420 - looking for help with nomenclature

Hi - I am new here.... this is my first post.

I have a Black 1994 S420, and I bought it with 80k miles on it about three years ago... I've put 80k on it since, and been prettymeticulousabout maintenance. It has served me well and I am in love with the car. I hope to drive it for several more years...

I am looking for someone to help me with the name of a body part, as I am not sure WHAT to look for when I do an online search for the part.

Under the front bumper, there is alarge molded lipthat comes down under the car, with a bunch of air slots on it... This is the part of the automobile that you would scrape if you pulled nose in to a curb when parking and you were not careful. This part is cracked right in the middle and is hanging. I hit something on the highway Sunday that damaged this.

What is the name of the part I should be looking for? Also, if you know of a good merchant I could use who has fair prices, I would appreciate a pointer to their website of phone number.

Finally, I am looking for the original leather shiftknob for the S420. If anyone knows where I can buy one, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

NHRob

On our 1994 Corvette, that part is called an Air Dam (or Air Deflector) and aids in directing oncoming air to desired paths for cooling system assistance and aerodynamics of the car.

Google indicates Mercedes calls the same part also an Air Dam/Deflector.

I have had to replace my wife's corvette Air Dam twice due to the car being such a low profile/riding platform. Air Dam on our Mercedes also has nicks and bangs, but still ok.

Hope this helps.
