Default 89 420 sel blowing fuse 5

Fuse 5 had been blowing intermittently about a month ago but is now blowing as soon as I turn on either the AC or defrost. I pulled the blower motor and put 12v to it and it ran well. I've replaced the blower regulator with a used part but I'm still blowing fuse 5 immdediately. Any help would be appreciated.

Update. I was advised to test the blower with the EC button and it worked well. From that it appears as though the AC Compressor coil has gone bad so we're going to be replacing the compressor today to see if that corrects the problem.

could just be the wire powering the compressor is rubbing against something and shorting out.

Took it all apart while waiting for the part to come in. Wiring looks OK AC Auxilliary Fan is locked up and blowing fuse...disconnected and compressor is also blowing fuse. New parts come in today so I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
