I am thinking about purchasing a 450 SL. Any advice? What to look out for? What years have better reliability records? Etc. Thanks

 

The 450SL is a great car, and was the first of the line of 380's,450's, and 560's. These cars are an excellent investment and are also great to drive every day. It can be tricky finding a car that has been cosmetically and mechanically maintained, which is probably the biggest thing to look for; how well the car has been kept. I would suggest staying away from the first couple of years; usually takes manufactures a couple of years to work out any problems.
