2002 S55 AMG Cranking/Starting Problem
1.
I just bought a 2002 S55 AMG recently and believe it was recently repossessed before i purchased it. The gear shift was loose and the car was not starting. After further investigation, I raised the car up and noticed that the linkage was disconnected or maybe even broken off the shifter connection. I manually put the car in park on the transmission, but the car still will not turn on or show any sign of cranking. I am planning on buying a new linkage and reconnecting it. Do you have any idea of what could be possibly wrong??? Does it need reprogramming? 2. The car is slighty lower on the front passenger side of the car? Does it also need reprogramming/calibration? If so, how is that done? Thanks for reading! |
there is a position sensor were the little shifter arm is its together with that little arm you just put in park if that sensor doesnt move together with the little arm than the computer wont be able to tell that the car is in park so it wont start at all wont even try to. make sure they move together

the best way to tell if they together is to put the car in reverse. if the reverse light wont come on that means the sensor is gone or not syncronysed with that little arm
