Default 2002 S430 Down shifting problem

Hello everyone. My 2002 S430 jerks forward with a rough gear switching(no noise)when down shifting from third to second gear and again from second to first. It also happens when accelarating from first to second gear. We hooked up and tested the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and the diagnostic found no faults with the TCM. My understanding is that I can not update the software (the so called "flush") on the '02 models like you can with some of the newer models. The vehicle is at 83000 miles. Any ideas anyone? Thank you.

Great. We know that the trans is operating within its diagnostic capability.

You don't state mileage. I assume you are >50k miles.

You could try a trans oil and filter change using genuine MB oil.

IMHO this action COULD but is unlikely to resolve the issue. Lubricity of the oil is an important factor.,

If this doesn't improve matters then I suggest your only options are expensive or alternatively you live with the problem until more significant symptoms appear.
