2000 s-500 no electronic power
Hi. I had a dead battery and installed a new one. Nothing works. The "key" doesn't turn, the lights don't work, the emergency flashers do not work. I plugged a scanner in the OBDII port and it cannot communicate with vehicle. I checked all the fuses. At one point the windows opened by themselves. I got them to shut with the mechanical key. The remote fob has good batteries. When I open the door the instrument panel lights but still cannot turn the key. Is this a computer problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, William.

do you have water getting into the car on the passenger side? big problem with that. theres a class action law suit for that. the water rolls back in to rear fuse box and can kill everything. or youve got a blown prefuse on the passenger side floor under the carpet under the dash. or just a poor connection at the battery.

I'll check it out. I noticed the windows fogged up inside so there is definitely moisture. Thanks. I should check class-action info also.

I removed the metal plate under the passenger side carpet to expose the power cable. It goes into a black junction box and there are 4 leads attached to it. All connections read 12.8 volts. I did not see any "fuse" there. Where do I go from here? Also, the trunk will open from the switch on drivers door so there is power there.
