Default 2000 S 430 comand Navagation voice

hi i'm a newbie, here. I have a 2000 s430 and the navagation voice comes and goes. sometimes it's loud enough and sometimes its very faint. i noticed another person complaining about it too. the volume is set correctly on the command system. any ideas, since the car is no longer under warranty?
thank you for any help.

I have the same problem, I don't know how to set the Voice on the navigation. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I too have a 2000 S430.

I'm not sure if this will fix it but on my 2000 S430 you can use the volume control on the steering wheel while the navagation voice is talking and control the volume.

My 05 300 C works the same way, while the nav is speaking the steering volume control will increase the volume of the voice.

I find the CD based S430 NAV so poor that it is not worth using. I am going to get a Garmin Street Pilot.
