1994 MBZ S320 auto trans cross-reference ??

Hello. I own a 1994 S320 Sedan. Will an automatic transmission from a 94-96 E-320 (722.3 - 4spd), or 97-06 E320 (722.6 - 5spd) work in my 94 S320 with 722.508 auto trans? If so, will the code read be correct?

If neither will "drop in", do you know of any other a/t models from any other year/series which will work? Thanks!

As I know it, 722.3xx trans ,which I have,and 722.6xx do not mix as the later has different shift controls, computer modules are different, etc.
Best to stay OEM or aftermarket equivalent, if you can.
