Default 1988 420SEL Cooling Fan Not Working NEED HELP

have a 1988 420SEL with 309,000. It has one mechanical fan and one electric fan, I have noticed at idle the A/C is not blowing as cold and also it is getting warm. The electric fan that is mounted to the front of the radiator is not coming on. I ran a lead to the battery and it came right on, so the fan moter is good. I also jumped the two wires on the evap canister and that did'nt work. I also checked the fuse and it was good.
Does anyone know what I should check next?

Thanks

Jason

I would start by testing the fan circuit at the fan. Put the a/c on and back probed the connector. See if power is actually getting to the fan. That is a good start. THe other suggestions make sense too, but I like to rule out the component first. If that is good, then going after the control circuit makes sense. Hope that does soemthign for you.

He's already complete the initial logical test! Read his scenario! In agreement with other posters, he only needs to replace the relay, and he should be fine. If that, by chance, doesn't work, then he should consider other options.
