00 S430 ATF change
 

NE1 with experience changing the ATF in a W220? I need specific directions on replacing the filter. Is there a seperate drain for the torque convertor (I need to know if I should buy 5 qts or 10qts based on the ability to drain the TC). Any input would be appreciated.

there is no drain for the converter on that year. there is one drain on the bottom of the pan. remove the plug. then remove the pan. then you just have to pull the old filter down to remove it. takes about 4 qts. but you should check it with a dipstick.

Thanks MBT, I have 5 qts of MB ATF, filter and pan gasket coming by UPS.
