The wiper blade needed to be readjusted. I took off the wiper, and while I was working on it, the wiper arm snapped. My windshield cracked. I took it for repair, and I was told that the MB mechanics are told to wrap a soft towel around the arm as the force with which the arm strikes the windshield will cause a crack. Long story short, it will not be covered under the warranty, so be careful.

I just replaced my wipers....

I have the rainX wipers Buy 1 get 1 free from pepboys. I really like them against the bosch.

 

Most of the time I change the wipers I clean the windshield, so I put a piece of paper towel in between.

 

I learned it the hard way as well.
Happened on my wife's jetta today and it happened to both sides. I am taking it to Speedyglass in am and will let you know what happened!

 

Amazing. When I change blades I have the new one unwrapped and ready to go. I remove 1 then install the new one. Then I do the other side. I guess I'm old school.

 

Good Tips, now that I own a R500, I will be very careful during the wiper change.
