Default Turbo quit working

Yesterday morning my wife said she needed fuel, and she added it needed it bad because it felt like engine was lacking power. I drove 1 mile to fill up, came back home. We then left and took a 100 mile trip, mostly flat land(TEXAS). Never had the need to use turbo. set at 70 mph on cruise all the way. On the way home with a fresh Starbucks coffee in my hand, I entered entrance ramp to highway, which has a slight incline. I saw a break in traffic and pressed on pedal and kept pressing till I hit floor, no boost at all. Once up to 70 mph, I set cruise again and drove home. I never experimented with punching throttle on way home(10 pm, Sunday night, when your not in a town in Texas your NO WHERE) No CEL, engine temp was normal. I got home and opened hood, facing car passenger side of intercooler was cold (54 outside) I touched driverside of intercooler and it was warmer but could still hold hand on it. I took engine cover off, couldn't see anything obvious(some hose disconnected, electrical plug disconnected) Anybody have any at home remedies to look at before taking to my mechanic? Oil level is full. Service "A" is due in 1,000 miles, which puts car at 70,000 miles total.
I hope I hear back, "replace fuse #..."
Thanks for any and all help, suggestions.

Take it to the dealer. This is just a guess, but sounds like a switching actuator that's controls intake flaps, There will be a code for some sort of switching valve under the intake and turbo. Ive done them, and also the customer had the same complaint as you did, just not enough power. it should be covered under warranty if you have one. If you don't have a wty. You're looking at about 5 hours labor maybe a little more. Its a pretty involved fix.

Ok, its Sunday 11 am CST. I checked oil again. All good. opened up fuse box on passenger, of course in MB fashion, NO INFO as to which fuse does what. I pressed on all of them. Started up car, drove back up road past fuel station, turned left on highway with "Crotch Rocket" behind me. Punched the throttle it ran right up to 4,200 rpm, rocketmobile behind me must have said ok, I'll bite and zoomed past me. I went around a u-turn under highway, punched it again, again it ran up the rpms like a jackrabbit. Here's the difference... The sun is shining and it was 10 degrees warmer then last night. Confused??? Me too.

Let car sit in my garage for about 2 hours. Took it up the road to get Texas state inspection. After I took it around same loop as I did earlier. Same result, zipped right up in rpm's, no lag at all. I think I am chasing a ghost.
