Reverse Lights Problem??
 

I've got a '99 ML430. When you shift into reverse, the lights do not come on, but if you push the shifter over while in reverse gear, then the lights will come on.

So, since it's not the bulbs, anyone know where to look next??? Much thanks in advance!
