Default Rear belt locked up whilst seat folded...

Some how, when putting down the rear seats, the double seat (passenger side),into the folded position, the belt has locked itself. The seat belt tensioner has come on and I cant now lift the seat as its locked fast. I have tried to dismantle the seat unit to no avail. Does anyone know what I can do to release it, other than cutting the belt or taking it to the workshop???[&:] The Black **** that you pull and the handle to the side seem to work, the seat will rise but only a couple of inches because of the belt retraction....

I had this problem on a BMW that I previously owned. Had to take it to the dealer. Was under warranty so no cost to me. I am very careful when folding down the seat on my ML as a result of my past experience. I tried to solve the problem on my own but no luck. As I mentioned the car was under warranty at the time.
