Default Question about the type of key i have

Just bought a used 2000 ML320 130k.I have read thru the threads about key fobs and u have to go thru the dealership to get a new key fob and how expensive they are.My question is what type of key do i have ?? is this one of those emergency keys i heard about?? I dont have a remote to unlock/lock doors or panic button.Other then that this key does everything i need it to do.Can i get one of these (plain) keys made without going thru the dealership??? Any help will be greatly appreciated.Have a blessed day

Pretty sure there is a chip in there. That's the master key. You get one of these when you install a new ignition or drive authorization module. a cut key wont start the car but you will be able to unlock the door.
