I am not a car person, sorry if this seems elementary. My ML350 runs on the highway at 2500-2800 rpm when traveling about 70 mph. It seems loud and has become rough. It is constantly at 2500-2800 rpm and it feels like it should shift, but never does. Is this typical of these vehicles or do I have a problem? I have had terrible luck with my local dealer and do not know where to turn even for simple advice. Thanks

 

make sure your in D on the cluster and not 5 or 6 . it will display what gear you are in. but everything sounds normal to me.
