PLEEASSEE HELP..BAS/ABS/ESP Light
That maybe setting procedure for the older original and replacement switches. New revision switch A 001 545 87 09 that I have installed to my ML in Nov.of 2009 did not have the adjustable plunger and works fine as plug and play procedure without any setting right out of the bag.

Had the same prob alast year, and I first changed the stop lamp switch, a month later the BAS came on again and it turnd out to be the BAS sensor, I had that replaced and never had another problem with it. From what I was told the BAS system control engine power in a turn if the sensor is bad then its constantly telling the computer that the car is in a turn and that limits the amount of power delivered to the wheels. so if this is your problem you might notice you have to give more pedal when excelarting than normal which in turn burns more fuel.
