Default Remote

Hi i am new to this forum. I have a 2002 ML 500 and my remote stop working suddenly. I changed my batteries and still doesn't work can some one help me please.

you need to go to the dealer and relearn the remote to the car. they might do it free of charge. or for a small fee.

Check your owner's manual for resynchronization of remote after replacing batteries. Search this forum, I have posted two different procedures for newer and older ML about two months ago. I have 99ML320 and this works for me: Get in the car and make sure that all doors are closed. Insert key to ignition and turn it to position 2, then remove. Quickly press and hold lock button while pressing 5 times unlock. Reliese lock button and you should be done. Verify FOB operation with hatch button to see if it is working. Mine was working on first try every time. I've even remove batteries on purpose for and left them out for a while to see, if this is the correct procedure for my remote, because synchronization steps in my original owner's manual are wrong!!!
