Passenger Seat Button feels Broken.

Passenger Seat Button feels Broken.
First off, ML 350 2007.
Passenger seat switch (the plastic part) feels loose to the touch but will lift/lower the front portion of the seat. The Forward/rearward is non-op. It feels like the plastic handle part may be broken loose.
The tilt direction is normal feeling and operates normally.
So. One question is, can I just pull the plastic handle part away... say towards the door? I cannot see anything under the seat from the front edge that looks odd.
Thoughts?
